ŠVENTOJI is a greatest affluent of Neris. Only
Nemunas and Neris has a bigger watershed. It is the
longest and the most beautiful river of the Upper
Lithuania. It is perfect when choosing a trip for 1-2
days or even for a week.
Recommended route: UŽPALIAI - ŽALIOJI - MICKŪNAI -
CONFLUENCE -
SCARP (Šimonys forest) - MONKEY BRIDGE (at Inkunai)
- BRIDGE (to the quarry) - ANDRIONIŠKIS - ANYKŠČIAI.
JARA – the most rapid affluent of Neris. Narrow,
watery and twisty river, that has many rapids. Jara is
similar to Šventoji in its upper reaches till Antalieptė
seas. You should choose this river ii you're searching
something more than an easy and monotonic boating in
wide rivers. You have to bend down for more than a dozen
times to avoid sagged trees and branches, overcome other
obstacles etc.
